Dr. Ulysses Samuel Goldman CARDEN graduated from the Medical College in Knoxville, TN, in October 1900 and interned there in 1900.  This was one of five medical schools in Tennessee that were merged in 1911 to form the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in Memphis.  The two photographs below were in the possession of his granddaughter, Virginia Caroline (Summitt) FRANCIS.  Dr. CARDEN's name was written in pencil on the backs of both of the photographs.  One or both of these photographs may be medical school class photographs.  I think that my great grandfather may be the man with the moustache in the third row, third from the left in the first photograph.
